Finnish President: Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz has begun to resemble a real nuclear weapon.
Alexander Stubb, the President of Finland, in his speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington, compared Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz to a “de facto nuclear weapon.”
Stubb emphasized: “Because of its control over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran holds the upper hand in a war with Israel and the United States. Iran currently has many leverage points.”
He added that dominance over this strategic passage affects not only oil and energy prices, but also fertilizers, food, and global trade — and that Iran currently holds many winning cards.
